APDC provides cultural competence training and consultation, and provides internship opportunities for graduate students in human services fields.
- APDC is one of six sites nationally that participated in an Asian American/Pacific Islander mental health workforce development grant funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This grant was administered by the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association that has developed a standardized curriculum and training modules for providing culturally competent mental health services.
- APDC serves as a training site for UCDHSC Department of Psychiatry, taking Senior Residents in Psychiatry for one-year rotations.
- APDC is collaborating with the following schools for clinical and community internship placements at the University of Denver:
- College of Education, Community Based Participatory Research
- Graduate School of Social Work
- Clinical Psychology Department
