Our Youth Leadership Academy is looking for mentors! We need mentors 18+ to empower youth (middle school/high school) through relationship building, cultural integration and learning experiences. Many of our students, are from immigrant and refugee backgrounds and need support navigating their new lives in and outside of school! If you have interesting perspectives, skills and time to share this is the opportunity for you.

The Outreach/Marketing Intern is responsible for outreach, marketing, and public awareness efforts for the Human Trafficking Program within the Victim Assistance Department at APDC. The Intern will develop marketing and public awareness materials and assist in public awareness strategies. This position will also maintain the Victim Assistance Department’s website and social media strategies. In addition, the Outreach/Marketing Intern will assist in coordinating and facilitating community outreach efforts as well as networking with system professionals and service provider agencies.

The Adult Education program is in need of classroom assistants during our ESL classes. Classroom assistants are individuals who are available during the ESL classtime to assist the teacher with small group activities, one on one student assistance, and other needs per the teacher's request.

Our program uses a curriculum called Burlington English, which is a digital learning platform that allows the students additional time to practice English from their home computers. One need we have of volunteers is to provide additional support to the students in small group sessions using Burlington during their class time.

We do provide all training to volunteers on how to work with immigrant and refugee students, assisting in an ESL classroom, and on how to use Burlington. Likewise, each class instructor will prepare the lessons and materials for the day. Our biggest expectation of our volunteers is flexibility as the ways in which they assist may vary based on the needs of the class/students/teachers.

Currently, we need instructors who are available during the following class times:

Monday-Thursday 9-11 am

Monday-Thursday 12:30-2:30 pm

Monday-Wednesday 6:00-8:00 pm

Instructors are welcome to volunteer for as few or as many classtimes as they wish. We ask that all volunteers be available for at least one (2 hour) class time per week for a minimum of 10 weeks. We also require all volunteers to submit a background check as well as attend orientation/training.

Asian Pacific Development Center has elder wellness groups around the metro Denver area that support health education, fun activities and socialization. We need a bilingual Cantonese volunteer the 1 st and 3rd Friday from 9:30 to 11:30am in SW Denver. Duties will include having fun, being supportive and assisting our group leader with activities and health lessons as needed.
